Haiti

1) The mountains over southeastern Haiti and southwestern Dominican Republic are 8000+ feet in elevation, and are located very near to the coast. Thus, orographic enhancement of the already heavy tropical rainfall must be out of control…Meaning that catastrophic flash floods and mud slides will be inevitable. Here is a picture of the beautiful south-Haiti coastline, showing the proximity of the massive mountains to the sea.

2) A market vendor covers her face from garbage smoke in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

3) Haiti national team during Gold Cup at the Orange Bowl on January 26th.

4) A woman in Fort Dimanche laying out biscuits to dry, biscuits made of butter, salt, water and dirt.

5) the flag of Haiti.

6) This picture depicts the living conditions of many Haitians. Towns such as this one are assembled from rusted scrap metal and anything else people can find.

7) In this picture, Haitian children are seen collecting water, likely from a polluted source.

8) This picture shows school girls who are able to attend class thanks to a group of Canadian school children who raised money to help them through Yele Haiti.

9) Haitian people offer animals, food and drink to the spirits during the annual voodoo ceremony in Cap-Haitien North of Port-au-Prince.

13) Haitian people dance during annual carnival celebrations in Port-au-Prince.

14) This wonderful organization called Sonlight Ministries works in Haiti and runs a Christian school for the children.

18) Most building that are not shacks have walls around them.

19) A home like Raymond builds for the poorest of the poor. This house is similar but larger then the ones he builds.

21) A cemetery in Haiti.

The main issue in Haiti is that they are poverty stricken.

ASCII- ASCII stands for American Standard Code for Information Interchange. Computers can only understand numbers, so an ASCII code is the numerical representation of a character such as ‘a’ or ‘@’ or an action of some sort.

Charles Babbage-an English mathematician, philosopher, inventor, and mechanical engineer who originated a programmable computer.

Herman Hollerith- a German-American statistician who developed a mechanical tabulator based on punched cards in order to rapidly tabulate statistics from millions of pieces of data.

Colossus- The Colossus machines were electronic computing devices used by British code breakers to read encrypted German messages during World War II. These were the world’s first programmable, digital, electronic, computing devices. They used vacuum tubes to perform the calculations.

Mauchly and Neumann- an American physicist who, along with J. Presper Eckert, designed ENIAC, the first general purpose electronic digital computer.

John Von Neumann- a Hungarian American mathematician who made major contributions to a vast range of fields including set theory, functional analysis, quantum mechanics, ergodic theory, continuous geometry, economics and game theory, computer science, numerical analysis, hydrodynamics, and statistics, as well as many other mathematical fields.

IBM- International Business Machines Corporation, The company is one of the few information technology companies with a continuous history dating back to the 19th century.

Kilby and Noyce- Kilby and Noyce were electrical engineers who in the late 1950s, working separately, invented the integrated circuit, better known as the microchip.

Ted Hoff- one of the inventors of the microprocessor. Hoff, an engineer, joined Intel in 1967 as employee number 12, and is credited with coming up with the idea of a universal processor instead of custom-designed circuits.

Douglas Engelbart- He is best known for inventing the computer mouse.

Xerox- a global document management company which manufactures and sells a range of color and black-and-white printers, multifunction systems, and photocopies.

The problems around the world

There are many problems around the world and the only reason for the problem is that people are caring less about what would happen in the world in the future. They only care about what is happening to them. We should have a habit of conserving.

What is the problem?

The problem in the world is pollution in the air water.

What is the cause of the problem?

The problem is caused by the people using less fuel efficient cars which is bad for the air. The factories send their waste products into the air and liquids into the water. This will make the water contaminated.

How does it affect people?

In the air- People breathe the air and many people get asthma and other deadly diseases by breathing the polluted air.

In the water- People dump their waste in the rivers and oceans. The fish in the rivers and oceans get contaminated with the pollution and when people eats them the people get the same diseases as the the one that the fish had from the bad wastes people dump.

Which people does it affect?

People who does not care about their future. They buy cars that give you less fuel efficient ex(Hummer H3) and the fuel cost too much but are still buying. I think people should buy cars that run completely on electricity or hybrid cars. In the water people dump wastes and also the liquid chemicals from the factories come to ocean or a lake. Those should be decreased in our environment.

How long has this problem been around?

This problem had been around from the time when the factories began and when the cars began to be produced. But the environment was not effected as much as it is now.

Who created the problem?

All the people who use the non fuel efficient car and too much of non fuel efficient cars and the factories that produce a lot of toxic wastes into the water.

What solutions have been offered?

I think all the people should be educated about the future and make certain rules and regulations in making cars and producing waste products form the factories. In these methods we could offer some solutions to the pollution in the world.

Have other solutions helped or solved the problem other places?

We could stop making non- fuel efficient cars, and make hybrid and electric or the new invention; cars that run by pouring water.

Why do you want to solve this problem?

I want to stop this problem because pollution is one of the major problems in almost every single counties in the world. If someone don’t take a step to stop the pollution after a generation the earth will be underwater.

How much will each unit of your solution cost?

Each one of the solution almost cost like 10000-20000 dollars. It might sound very costly, however it is better than buying a brand new Hummer H3 which would cost more and will increase your gas bill and your maintenance cost and your down payment/ monthly bills.

How many units will be required to solve the problem?

There should be a lot of units that will be required to solve the problem. First of all we need a lot of non petroleum cars. Then we need factories or products in factories that produce less chemicals into the water. So it will not effect the echo system very much.

Who will produce the units?

I think all the car companies should make non-fueled cars and other factories should produce less chemicals and then the car companies and factories will produce the units.

How will you get the units to the places they need to be to do their work?

First I think we should bring this to the city or a town where there is a lo of pollution. Then after being introduced by new concept cars people will find the positive sides to the car and no negative sides to the car they will buy the new non-petroleum car.

How will you make sure that the units get where they are going and get installed or implemented properly?

Just like a showroom we will request all the car companies to make a new car that is purely electric or that purely runs on water. In this way we could stop more air pollution. Factories should purify the chemical wastes and then it should have a pH of 7 then they could dump the waste into water only if it is pH7.
How will you report to the people who give you money? How will you verify that you spent your money wisely?

We will tell them that all the money that they give us will be completely used for the new evolution of cars and the first developed cars will be given to the people who donated us the money for a reason. For the factories we would give the first 2 products of the factories who use produce smoke to the atmosphere and who use pH scale to measure the chemical with water before sending to the ocean or sea.
You should have a simple budget for the entire program from production of your unit to the report – how much will it cost overall?

The overall cost will be less than 5 million. We need 5 million dollars because if we do not have a good starting value our products that we make wont be enough for all the people in the world, and for the factories people will have to make these changes and will cost you more than what you imagine. So we wll need a cost of 5 million dollars

well i know a lot about computadores. at least i think so.  although i am not good at remembering the things that i learn about computers unless you either ask me a question about it or if you just show me a visual image of what you are talking about.  ha ha thank you!
